This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Bardown Smelling Salts (“Bardown”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects when you visit www.bardownsmellingsalts.com (the “Site”), buy from us, or contact us, and what we do with it.

What we collect

Orders. Your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, what you bought, and any order notes. We need these to take payment, ship your order, and keep the records tax law requires.
Payment details. Card and wallet payments (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes to Stripe, not to us. We receive a confirmation, the card brand, and the last four digits.
Accounts. If you create an account, your username, email address, and a hashed password, plus your saved addresses and order history.
Messages. The name, email address, topic, and message you send through the contact form.
Mailing list. The email address you sign up with.
Reviews. The name, email address, and review you submit on a product. Your name and review are shown publicly. Your email is not.
Technical data. Like most websites, our host’s servers log your IP address, browser, device, and the pages you request. These logs are used for security and to keep the Site running.

How we use it

To process payments, ship orders, handle returns and refunds, and send order and shipping emails.
To answer your messages and provide customer support.
To send our mailing list to people who signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
To prevent fraud and keep the Site secure.
To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the store, and only what each one needs:

Stripe, to process payments and screen for fraud. Stripe handles your information under its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Hostinger, which hosts the Site, its database, and its content delivery and caching.
Our email delivery provider, which sends order confirmations, shipping notices, replies, and mailing list emails on our behalf.
USPS, which receives your name and shipping address so it can deliver your order.
Google Fonts, which serves the Site’s typefaces. Your browser requests the fonts from Google, which receives your IP address.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. The Site does not run advertising trackers or pixels. If that ever changes, we will update this page first.

Cookies

The Site uses a small number of cookies so the store works:

Cart and session cookies (WooCommerce) remember what is in your bag and keep checkout working.
Login cookies (WordPress) keep you signed in to your account.
Payment cookies (Stripe) are set during checkout to help detect fraud.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout will not work without them.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. We keep messages for as long as we need them to help you. We keep your mailing list address until you unsubscribe. If you delete your account, we remove your account details but keep the order records we are required to keep.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including California, you may have the right to:

Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
Get a copy of it.
Ask us to correct it.
Ask us to delete it, unless we are required to keep it.
Opt out of marketing emails at any time.

You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.

Children

Our products are for adult athletes. The Site is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The Site uses HTTPS, and payments are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information, such as card numbers, by email or through the contact form.

International visitors

We are based in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
